Slice of Life 3
Every morning before I leave for work, I wake my two-year old, Millie. Like me, she is likes to wake up slowly. As my husband says, Millie is only truly awake when she starts talking (and never stops for the rest of the day). Once she is up and ready, Mill Bug and I head downstairs where I deposit her on the couch before heading off to work - and this is when our morning ritual truly begins.
Mama: "Millie, are you going to listen today?"
Mama: "Are you going to listen to Auntie Merina, Auntie Kat, Auntie Salibah (her pre-school teachers) and Margie (her nanny)?"
Mama: "Remember, no hitting, no biting, no scratching, no pinching, no punching, no kicking. Right?"
Millie: "Yeah. (Sigh.)"
Mama: "And, be sure to...."
This is how one sends an only child off to nursery school!
