Slice of Life 16
As technology is a huge part of my professional life, when I am at home, I try to limit my screen time. This frustrates my family back in the US, as, without email, they have no real way to stay in contact with me day to day. More often than I care to admit, I get an email from my father posing the single question, "Are you still alive?" However, during the weekend, my family can usually can count on me to surface for our weekend call/skype date. We started these calls when my husband and I moved overseas seven years ago. They continue to this day. Literally. This morning (their evening), the fam had an hour long skype session, and it was absolutely great. My parents are currently visiting my brother, so the whole family was able to connect. I must say it was the perfect way to start my day. Hence, my tech appreciation... Today, I offer thanks to the internet gods for allowing my family to be just a click away!
