Today, my sixth graders and I have accepted the Slice of Life Challenge. We are all reacting differently to the prospect of committing to a post a day - Wow! Can we do it?
Some of our thoughts...
We are nervous about reaching our goal but excited about the mysterious prize!
Some of us are anxious, not sure about what will be happening for the next few weeks. Some of us are truly excited about expressing our inner most thoughts and feelings. Others, however, are feeling a little bit angry about having to write on the weekends and birthdays!
We are doing this just for the mysterious prize!
Some of us feel annoyed and miserable, because we think writing is our weakest skill. And, it is mandatory, including weekends! But, others are excited to write!
We feel like we can do this for the prize, but more homework? That's going WAY too far. :)
We are excited to find out if we will be able to complete the challenge.
We feel excited, as this gives us a chance to do something meaningful in our free time, other than watching anime and social networking on Facebook or Skype.
We have started the Slice of Life, but we are not sure if we are going to enjoy it.
The Slice of Life Challenge: love it or hate it. We have mixed feelings, and we are all nervous.
We are like flowers. Some of us our wilting at the thought of writing each day. Others are blooming with excitement.
